Targeting adolescents / 1

Bridging the gap between research and practice

The first phase is an analysis of insights using the Concept Mapping methodology. VUMC University Medical Center asks the 13 programmes coordinators to think about obesity prevention with a focus on how to address adolescents living in deprived areas. Experts having led recent research projects such as ENERGY, SPOTLIGHT, TEMPEST, IDEFICS, HEALTH25, where asked the same question. Then the results from the coordinators and from the scientific experts are compared.

To complete this study, a literature review on the subject is done.

This work leads to evidence and practice-based recommendations that help the 13 coordination teams to develop actions towards this target group.

VUMC University Medical Center is responsible for coordinating a specific training during the OPEN first Symposium to present evidence and practice-based recommendations on the way to target adolescents living in deprived areas.

Recent research key findings are disseminated during the 2 OPEN symposia.
